FAQs

  • Yes. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) undergo comprehensive and rigorous training similar to that of medical doctors. They complete a minimum of three years of pre-med postsecondary education, followed by four years of full-time study at an accredited naturopathic college. This program includes more than 4,500 hours of classroom training in basic and clinical medical sciences and naturopathic therapies, as well as 1,500 hours of supervised clinical experience. Graduates receive the designation Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) and must pass Entry-to-Practice exams to become licensed in Ontario. NDs are regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, which ensures that they possess the knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients safely and effectively. They also maintain their expertise through ongoing continuing education.

  • Absolutely. We encourage continued collaboration and communication with all other healthcare providers, including your MD. We also refer out when conventional medical approaches are required.

  • No — OHIP does not cover naturopathic visits. However, many extended health benefit plans do cover these services (much like dental or chiropractic care). We provide receipts for insurance submission and can arrange direct billing for certain providers.

  • The level of change we recommend depends on your individual situation and the severity of your health concern. We aim to create realistic, sustainable changes that align with your life — not overwhelm you.

  • Please complete the required intake forms in advance (sent via Jane to your email). If you have recent laboratory results, prior test data, or any pertinent health information, you may upload it in advance to help us make the most of your first visit. If you cannot complete your form online or prefer a paper copy, please arrive at the clinic 15 minutes before your appointment to do so.

  • Currently, my 1:1 visits are available only to residents of Ontario. Appointments are available in-person and virtually.

  • NDs support a wide range of conditions, including autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, cardiometabolic concerns, stress, sleep difficulties, and more.

  • Yes! Naturopathic medicine isn’t just for managing illness. Many people see an ND to optimize their health, prevent disease, improve energy, and support overall well-being.

  • Yes. Naturopathic care often includes a combination of conventional lab tests (such as blood, urine, or stool tests) and specialized functional or integrative tests. Conventional labs help us assess standard markers of health, such as blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid function, or vitamin levels. Functional testing can provide a deeper look at how your body functions at the cellular or metabolic level—for example, evaluating nutrient status, gut microbiome balance, hormone function, or detoxification pathways.

By using these tests, we can uncover underlying imbalances, guide personalized treatment plans, and track your progress over time. Testing is always tailored to your specific health goals, and we integrate results with a comprehensive review of your history, lifestyle, and symptoms to provide a comprehensive picture of your health.
